Staff Application Engineer

• Collaborate with IC design, systems and marketing teams to define new Power and Isolationproducts
• Provide technical assistance to a global customer base, primarily via our customer supportsystem, but occasionally in-person
• Develop customer evaluation hardware that provides best-practice layout guidelines formaximum EMI control
• Develop creative demonstration hardware and solutions to support pre-sale customerdemonstrations and trade shows
• Author and maintain written collateral, such as application notes, user guides andwhitepapers
• Author and deliver written, video and live training material to customers and our field teams
• Develop custom hardware solutions to help customers solve tough problems
• Work with partner companies to develop reference designs using Skyworks products
• Conduct detailed electrical analysis of competitive solutions to facilitate understanding of thecompetitive landscape

• Must be comfortable explaining technical concepts to a wide range of audiences includingmore senior engineers and management teams

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• 7+ years of professional experience
• Strong understanding of analog and digital circuit fundamentals
• Strong and methodical problem-solving skills
• Understanding of power switching circuits
• Understanding of PCB design tools, techniques and processing
• Understanding of basic lab equipment (oscilloscopes, power supplies, meters, etc.)
• Some working knowledge of a high-level programming or scripting language
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
• A great attitude with an eagerness to learn and facility to adapt to changes in plans and new technical challenges
